well I don’t really know if there’s so much you can do, the colors are very colored while the volcano are more neutral, I think a higher resolution picture of a volcano and then increase saturation or something, I’m just shooting from the hip :P it simply seems like big difference in contrast between the colors and the volcano ..
Also you could try to make it look more like the paint actually comes from inside the volcano by darken the paint where it is coming up from the volcano.
And a last ting and only nitpicking,
Another thing is that it seems like there’s a yellowish line around the paint I don’t know if this is on purpose or..?
Well now it seems like I think it is crap but I don’t! I think it's very nice.
By the way you got me hooked on this style I might even try something similar. :D

i love the colors, but i think you need to blend the volcano better in, anyway this is very good :)
